About Linzy

Alinzia, affectionately called Linzy by family and friends, began cooking with her grandmother at 8 years old. Her grandmother would have her cooking traditional southern meals like macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, collard greens, and sweet potato pies just to name a few. While all of those meals are delicious, over time it helped to add on weight. After many years of dealing with obesity, Linzy found a program that promised to help her lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks, as long as she followed the program to the letter. The program challenged her with it's rigorous diet plan which consisted of a repetitive food selection. Thus, pushing Linzy to put her best foot forward and adjust the food to her liking. Linzy didn't want to just be on a diet-- she wanted to make a lifestyle change. She began creating different ways to make healthy meals with a soulful twist and from that came the recipes for Linzy's Soul Cuisine. Linzy successfully completed 4 challenges from the 20 lbs in 6 week program, lost 130 lbs over the span of a year and maintained the weight loss for 2 years.
